We’re delighted to have former Queen’s faculty, Professor of Pediatric Surgery at McGill and recent appointee to the Order of Canada, Dr. Dan Poenaru, in town for a one-day-only special lecture on advancing surgical care across Africa. About the Speaker

Dan Poenaru (CM, MD, PhD) is a 2024 appointee to the Order of Canada. He serves as adjunct professor at McGill University in pediatric surgery. Prior to this he lived on the continent of Africa where he founded a-first of-its-kind pan-African training program for pediatric surgeons.
