Hummingbird Painting Workshop

Have you ever wanted to spread your wings and try something new? In this in-person acrylic painting workshop you will learn how to mix colour, create contrast against a black background, and layer paint to create the look of feathers. This is great introduction to develop brush control for fine lines and detail. During class you will have 3 hours to learn, play (along with other like minded creatives), and leave with a few tricks up your sleeve to help you in your own painting process. Paint, brushes, and canvas will be provided. All you need to bring is an apron and a positive attitude!! At the end of class, you’ll leave with your very own finished 12"x12" hummingbird piece on canvas. Enrollment has already begun and class sizes are small. I’m excited for this opportunity and I hope you’ll join me.

All levels welcome. Painting experience would be beneficial. | Ages 16+

About the Instructor

Tammy’s work speaks of noticing detail. Slowing down and embracing the process of brushes to canvas. The notion of “slow” is carried throughout her work relayed in the fine features of her animals or the soft layering of her clouds. Her work is a subtle nod to the natural world we live in and the creatures it inhabits. Inside her cozy studio, Tammy works in acrylic and oil on canvas. As a Canadian realist painter her creations range from landscapes with cloud-filled skies, to animals. With a strong background in illustration, each piece has its own personality or mood, often presenting a lighthearted interpretation of her subject matter. She is recognized by the Ontario Arts Council, with collectors found across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia. Over the past 17 years she has been working as s full-time artist, exhibiting in various established juried exhibitions and galleries.
