Basement Girl is a multidisciplinary live performance that explores the nuanced experiences of an immigrant navigating life in Canada. It follows an international PhD student who rents a basement apartment from a Canadian landlady but then gets tormented by her vibrant and noisy lifestyle upstairs. At the same time, the dark, constrained space of the basement influences her identity and self-perception as she tries to adapt to life in a new country. Developed by Bojana Babic, Tracey Guptill, and Neven Lochhead.

Part of the 2024 Kick & Push Festival, Kingston's annual celebration of innovative live performance, sponsored by the Tett Centre.
