Join us for an evening of storytelling! This Thursday, September 10 at 5 pm.
A film screening and storytelling event will share Kingston newcomer youth’s struggles and successes with the aim of educating the community about the issues that immigrant and refugee youth face when immigrating to, settling in and integrating into a new society.
The Immigrant Services Kingston and Area (ISKA) Multicultural Youth Group from Kingston Community Health Centres will screen videos created at a special summer film camp by eight of its youth. The 2-minute videos featuring their immigration and life stories were entirely created by the group of youth with the support of the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning and other community partners. In addition to the videos, some of the youth will also tell the stories found on the website MadeInYGK.com.
Please join us for this special community event to raise the profile of newcomer youth in Kingston and help create a more welcoming and inclusive community.
