Surprise Mom With An Unforgettable Weekend at the Tett Art Expo
Victoria Butler April 15, 2016
Don’t settle for a greeting card and a flower bouquet when you can delight in all the brilliance of local artists this Mother’s Day! If your mother has a love of arts and culture, what better way to honour her than with a special weekend of music, dance, unique arts and delicious food?
The Tett Arts Expo is happening Saturday, May 7th at 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, May 8th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Treat your mom to a weekend of dynamic art performances, exhibits and workshops.
You’re invited to indulge in brunch in the scenic Malting Tower. Afterwards, tour the historic structure of the Tett. Pick up a very special gift from the Arts and Crafts Show, featuring the works of Kingston Handloom Weavers & Spinners, Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club and Kingston Potters’ Guild.
If you are more inclined to create your gift for Mom, Julie Davidson-Smith has a workshop for you! Julie will be offering a unique opportunity for mother's and daughters to take part in a morning of encaustic painting. Learn incredible new skills and take your work of art home with you!
Juvenis Festival will also be present at The Tett Arts Expo, bringing illuminating performances and enlivening workshops to the Malting Tower and Rehearsal Hall. The festival is designed to encourage youth to engage in an array of art forms. It offers a collection of activities throughout the first week of May, which are free to youth under 30 years old.
And as part of United Way's Success by 6 campaign the Tett is taking part by offering a free children's program from 2-4 on Saturday with children's entertainer Gary Rasberry and his blue guitar.
The Tett Art Expo is a great opportunity to make lasting memories, and to try new things in a fabulously inspiring space! Tickets to our Mother’s Day Brunch available here.
All ages, All welcome and Free admission!
