The Creation of the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning The Power of CommunityUnder the leadership of John K. Tett, Director of Recreation, the City of Kingston purchased the deindustrialized Morton Brewery and Distillery complex in 1971 with the hope of transforming it into a community hub for the arts. The site was named the J.K. Tett Complex, in recognition of Tett’s vision, and functioned as an informal arts cluster until the mid-2000s.

The Juniper Cafe and the Tett Centre are excited to announce that the Cafe, a staple of the Tett since 2016, will remain open under new ownership this spring.
We are pleased to announce that Danielle Folkerts is the TCCL's new Marketing & Programming Coordinator. Danielle has been involved with the Tett Centre since 2016 as an arts instructor and program coordinator, and joined our staff in late 2017 as Arts Administrator. We welcome Danielle to her new role of creating, implementing, and marketing innovative programming for the community, and supporting our wonderful resident artists and arts organizations. On behalf of the TCCL Board of Directors and Nadine Baker, Facility Manager, we wish to congratulate Danielle on her new position.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Family Day at the Tett Centre on February 19th! We are so grateful to all of the arts organizations and artists who contributed by welcoming the community on this special day to experience unique hands-on arts activities. A HUGE shout out from the TCCL Board of Directors to the Tett Staff and Volunteers who organized this event making Family Day 2018 a success!
